Emergency Assistance & Family Support
Limited, income-based assistance and trusted resource connections for eligible women and families experiencing temporary hardship.
Senior Safety & Wellness
Safety education, wellness outreach and practical resources that help older adults remain safe, supported and connected.
Community Outreach
Community events, essential supplies, educational resources and collaborative services for families, seniors and youth.
Mentorship & Resource Navigation
Encouragement, accountability and connections to trusted community resources that help people move forward.
Youth Literacy — Read to Rise
Read to Rise helps students in grades 3–6 strengthen reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and confidence through small-group instruction, mentoring, and engaging literacy activities.
Before and After: Healing Forward Foundation’s growing community pantry provides food, household essentials and practical support for local families experiencing hardship.

Awarded a $12,000 AARP Community Challenge Grant to expand senior safety, wellness, and aging-in-place initiatives.
Awarded a $4,000 Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant to launch Read to Rise for students in grades 3–6.
Awarded a $2,500 Women’s Fund Grant to assist eligible women and families experiencing hardship.
Awarded a $1,000 grant from the Wawa Foundation to support community outreach and service initiatives.
Hosted our Community Outreach & Senior Safety Awareness Day on August 29, 2026, serving approximately 100 attendees, distributing at least 75 senior safety kits and 100 backpacks, and providing food and household assistance to approximately 45 community members.
Continued providing emergency assistance, food, essential supplies, wellness outreach, and trusted resource connections throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Together, We are helping women, families, seniors, and youth move from pain to purpose.
